Big Oil, CALI, and taxing the rich

TBH, Newsome and taxing exorbitant profits is ostensibly a win for the public good. However, what would be better is to find out HOW MUCH exorbitant profit is and take confiscate that. Taxes are good and all, but if you're cheating, manipulating, then those profits are "ill gotten gains".

Can we agree that Big Oil will blame the existing taxes on Cali's special oil for their massive profits? Bueller?

Post truth, experts, and a dystopian society

The author makes a good point about public vs. private bureaucrats and what needs to be said and what ISN'T said. Sadly, our system is beginning to look more Soviet like.

CPUC breakup

When the guv vetoed all the CPUC reforms that were proposed last year, it made my stomach ache. I think the thought that the CPUC needs to change is pretty evident, from San Bruno gas explosion, to the Aliso Canyon leak to the San Onofre sweetheart settlement that put the customers on the hook for the break down.

Mike Gatto, Assemblyman for Glendale area has put forth a n intitiative for this fall's ballot
